About Us

KBWomenintech is one of the projects of KwaraBuild Tech Community whose goal is to empower women and girls with tech skills through building a strong network of a global community where women can collaborate and empower one another to change the world.

Our Mission

To bridge the gender gap in tech by providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere for women & girls to connect, learn and take charge in the tech industry.

Our Values

- Empowering women to use technology for the benefit of their careers, their disciplines and their local & global communities.
- Eliminating barriers to full participation in a technology driven age
- Expanding the pipeline for women entering technology fields.

Our Goals

  • To increase the number of young girls and women pursuing careers in tech and showcasing their skills without any feeling of inferiority;

  • To build a global community of women of like minds who meet regularly and learn from their experiences;

  • To encourage young girls and women to be the best they can be by leveraging on their abilities;

  • To create a cadre of female coders and tech entrepreneurs.

Some of our physical meetups and workshop

Creating Legacy for women in tech

A physical workshop organised for ladies to having a legacy in the tech world as a woman going into tech, where we introduced the women to different career they can choose in the tech eco system. We recorded 50% of the participants then now in their tech careers. 

Hands on workshop

A workshop for beginners in 4 categories: Web Development, WordPress, Content Marketing and Ui/Ux. After which a coding challenge was held for Web Development group, where we recorded Hammed Nimotallahi as the winner.

Emerging together in the tech industry

No one must be left out of the growing community, “Once a new technology rolls over you, if you’re not part of the steamroller, you’re part of the road. We organised the meetup o educate women on how to stay glued with ever revolving tech eco system.
